Davide Scaramuzza

University of Zurich, Zurich (Switzerland)

Biography: Davide Scaramuzza is a Professor of robotics at the University of Zurich, where he works on autonomous navigation of micro flying robots with both standard and neuromorphic cameras. He did fundamental works on vision-based navigation and low-latency robust perception with with event camerasHe pioneered vision-based navigation of drones, which inspired the navigation algorithms of Ingenuity. In 2022, his team demonstrated that an AI-controlled, vision-based drone could outperform the world champions of drone racing. He co-founded Zurich-Eye, today Meta Zurich, which developed the localization and maping alorithms of the Meta Quest. His research was featured in The New York Times, The Guardian, The Economist, and Forbes.

Kynan Eng

SynSense, Zurich (Switzerland)

Biography: Kynan Eng was co-founder and CEO at iniVation. The company has achieved a number of firsts in neuromorphic engineering including the first commercially available event-based camera, first sensor to reach volume production (with Samsung), and the first neuromorphic technology in space. In 2024 iniVation became part of the SynSense Group, where Kynan continues to serve as chief commercial officer. SynSense produces highly integrated, ultra-low-power neuromorphic sensor-processor systems for applications in fields including XR, IoT, and industrial applications.

Hyunsurk Eric Ryu

Founding CEO of Neuroreality Vision, Visiting Professor at Seoul National University

Biography: Professor Hyunsurk Eric Ryu possesses unparalleled expertise spanning academia, the corporate sector, and innovative entrepreneurship in the field of Event-driven Systems, a next-generation computing and sensor paradigm. During his time at the Samsung Electronics, he pioneered a new horizon in the industry by successfully commercializing the world's first Dynamic Vision Sensor (DVS), overcoming the limitations of conventional CMOS frame-based image sensors. Furthermore, he has deepened the academic foundation of his technologies through close and ongoing collaboration with the Institute of Neuroinformatics (INI, UZH-ETH Zurich) since 2009. Currently serving as both a visiting professor at SNU and the CEO of the venture company NeuroReality Vision, he is at the forefront of translating cutting-edge research into real-world applications.
